How to Acquire Custom Martina GlassThe best ways for you to get to know my work are through this web site and/or by visiting our studio to look at my extensive portfolio and works in progress. If you are interested in acquiring a custom piece, contact me so we can discuss some basic details. Should you decide to acquire fused glass art, we will have more in-depth discussions. My goal is to create art that will enrich your life.My greatest satisfaction comes from working with clients to develop unique ideas and designs, select glass colors and textures and produce personalized works of art. Obviously, free flow of ideas and other information is essential to the evolution of your fused glass art. When possible, I like to visit your home or office to see where the work will be placed and get an idea of your personal tastes. When a visit is not possible, I may ask you to provide color pictures of your areas, particularly where the piece will be displayed. We will establish some basic parameters, such as function, location, and budget, before beginning the design phase. Glass prices vary and some designs are labor intensive to execute, so the design of the piece will affect its ultimate price. I will be able to give you an estimate early, but the price cannot be finalized until the final design is complete. I may develop some initial rough sketches for your consideration, but I require a non-refundable design fee of 20 percent of the estimated cost of the project before moving into the full design stage, where our ideas – yours and mine – begin to take shape. If the project is commissioned, the design fee is deducted from the total charge. We will review and discuss the design. Upon approval of the final design, I require an additional 40 percent down payment before beginning execution of the piece. Creation of fused glass art is an interesting and exciting process and I welcome client visits to my studio. Seeing how your piece is created will enhance your pleasure in owning it. Please contact us for an appointment to ensure we will be available. Some Additional DetailsPayment: The balance due on your commissioned work will be payable before shipment. We accept payment in cash or by Visa or Master Card. Local personal checks are usually acceptable, but out-of-state checks must clear before an order will be shipped. Shipping: Additional shipping charges will apply. Most items are shipped via UPS ground. Larger orders may be shipped via motor freight and any shipping and crating charges will be additional. We can provide a quote after your order is placed. Lead time: Custom work generally takes from four to ten weeks, depending on lots of variables. We jointly will agree on a target shipping date. Should there be any unforeseen delays, we will keep you advised of the actual date of shipment. Thank you for your interest in my work. If you need more information, please contact me by phone or e-mail or visit my studio. I look forward to hearing from you. The creation of an original piece of fused glass art for you will require an open exchange so that I can understand your likes and desires. |
